Coordinator

The coordinator is Fondazione LIA, an innovative non-profit organisation created by the Italian Publishers Association in collaboration with the Italian Blind and Visually Impaired Union. In 2020 it won the ABC International Excellence Award. Since the beginning of its activities, LIA established relationships and partnerships with key international organisations in the field, such as W3C, EDRLab, the DAISY Consortium and ISO. It actively participates in the most relevant international working groups on accessibility of editorial products, and on research and development of standards and innovative solutions.

Publishers Associations

Three partners are publishers associations in their respective countries and will be able to involve their members, representing all the different publishing market segments (such as fiction and nonfiction, education and academic, professional, children’s books, comics) in the capacity building and networking activities of APACE. All the PAs are members of FEP (Federation of European Publishers) and of IPA (International Publishers Association). They will also be able to keep informed and involve their members in the project activities. In particular:

Specialist organisations

Three partners are specialist organisations nowadays managing the production and distribution of ad hoc created accessible publications in their respective countries. They will bring to the project their specific knowledge on how to create accessible publications and will collaborate in the analysis and definition of new workflows considering how to include accessibility requirements while producing the first publication. Furthermore, they know very well the needs of print impaired people, the technologies and the tools used to read.
